I’m running on a grand total of about 2 hours sleep, and the dreary weather just screams “naptime”, but nonetheless, I’m pumped and excited to be writing to you from England this morning (or rather, afternoon)!
My flight over was fairly uneventful, the only trouble being an exceptionally long customs line (note to self: get UK passport updated- that line was much shorter!) and lugging around goodness knows how many pounds of camera gear.
Though I’m here on business, I do have a few personal adventures to attend to while on British soil. One being the aforementioned Olympia, and the other being a ride through Hyde Park (thanks to Lori for the suggestion!).
Traveling alone can be a bit of a pain, but these horsey activities will make the trip more than memorable, especially since sadly my family is indisposed and unable to meet while I’m here.
Since I don’t have a selfie-stick, the blog will likely be saturated next week with crummy iPhone photos and selfies of questionable attractiveness, and hopefully one helmet cam of an ideally sunny day riding through London.
TTFN! Ta ta for now 🙂
🙂 Glad you’re going on your Hyde Park ride! I just found out I will be in the UK for a meeting 1st week of January but alas, don’t have time to get to London. Or do anything else horsey while I’m there. Which really kind of sucks.
Er, pls pack one of those adorable New Forest ponies and bring him home, mmkay?
oooh hope you have a blast!
OMG HAVE SO MUCH FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So much london cheer…. even in a haze of grey there is something so wonderful about that city…
other silly fun horsey ideas…. go to the tack shop in Harrods! it might be tiny and small but hopefully still there! It should be on the 5th floor somewhere mixed in with tennis and running stuff…. I bought a brush from there in 6th grade and still use it almost every time i ride 🙂 And they had really cool velvet ribbon brow bands…. very british… I bought one the last time I was there 9 years ago and have brought it out on special occasions. If it was green and navy I would use it more but alas I had to settle for red white and blue…
also there is a statue somewhere near Piccadilly Circus of Posiedon’s 4 horses??? I can’t remember… but it’s a horse statue hehehehe.
If it is still around and taking rides out go to Ross Nye Stable instead of Hyde Park Stables. It’s where I worked for a short bit (like 2 or 3 weeks?) and they might let you ride faster through the park. Hyde Park Stables tends to cater to non riding tourists and they have a very specific system. They’re in the same location… literally around the corner from each other…
Cheerio!!!!!
Eep! Have fun! Riding through Hyde Park was something I didn’t squeeze in when I went to London, but it’s definitely on the bucket list.
Oh enjoy! Hopefully London puts on the weather for you as I’d LOVE to see your Hyde Park ride amongst the rest of your adventures!
Ah I wanted to make it out to New Forest when I went but my visit was too short! Have loads of fun!
I could never be around feral ponies. I’d steal them all
